ERIE COUNTY FAIR COMBINE DERBY

Saturday, August 11, 2012, 6:30 p.m.

Derby is open county registration

1.Entries will be accepted at the Secretary's Office and by mail.

2.Entry Fee $40.00, which covers driver plus one.

3.Pits open at 12:00 p.m.

PRIZE MONEY for each heat: top 2- $450 3rd- 300 4th- 200

Feature: 1st- $700 2nd= $ 450 3rd- $250

There is a guaranteed $250 participation pay-out

MACHINE PREPARATION RULES & REGULATIONS: .

1.Any size of self-propelled combine is allowed and all equipment is to be original (no reinforced parts
or shields) and if the combine is a 4 WD, the 4 WD must be disabled.

2.a.) Grain table must be in a fixed position at 18" to 24" above the ground. Corn heads must have snouts snipped and stripped to the main frame.

b.) You may weld, bolt, and or use bracing from the feeder housing to the head to hold the head on,
all bracing cannot exceed 4” diameter.

3. a.) Reel must be removed from the grain head.

b.) Reel supports must be removed or laid down flat on top of dividers and welded solid, very little
steel should be added to do this.

c.) The auger may be welded with only one, 2" inch bead to keep from turning. This is so if you

step up on the auger it will not rotate and cause you to fall.

d.) Knife guards and knifes must be removed from the grain head by removing the bolts.
e.) Wobble box must be removed to allow both sides of the grain head to be flush.

f.) Nothing is permitted to extend past front of head (No points allowed).

4.a.) All glass windows and factory outside lights must be removed.
b
.) Entire cab must be welded or chained closed.

c.) Mount some kind of driver protection on the cab at least 36" high.

d.) Combines that are not equipped 'with factory cabs will need to have a roll cage built for them,
out of2
" or larger pipe or tubing and mount some kind of driver protection at least 36" high.

e.) Cab ladder mustbe removed.

5.The fuel tank must be mounted securely in the grain bin. Remove factory tank or leave it in place
an
d cut a large hole in the lower side of fuel tank.

6.Driver must wear helmet and seat belt when entering the track and during the derby.

7.At the start of the derby all tires must be:

a.) Standard rubber tires on standard rims.

b.) Filled with air only.

c.) NO DUALS

d.) NO LOGGING TIRES ARE ALLOWED.

8.No adding weight of any kind to the combine.

9.Steering ami may be put in the front of the steering axle.

10.All removable straw choppers must be removed.

11.Separator drive belt must be removed

12.The unload auger must be removed.

13.Combine number must be highly visible from the top and both sides. 24" x 24" sign with your
drivers num
ber on each side of it. Needs to be mounted to top of drivers cab.

14.All loose sheet metal needs to be removed. Do not throw scraps in combine as it is considered weight and also is more for clean up crew to clean off track between heats.

15.No sharp points will be permitted. Anything questionable you will be asked to remove it before the show.

16.Driver must be 16 years of age of older. Minors must have parent’s signature.

17.Judges decisions are final.

RULES OF THE COMBINE DEMOLITION DERBY

1.No direct hits to the driver’s area.

2.Must stop machine upon lifting of other machine off wheels to eliminate tip over.

3.If you are rolled over, the heat will be stopped and your combine will be placed back on its wheels.

4.During the competition you must initiate contact within two (2) minutes. If at anytime you cannot make contact within the time limit you will be disqualified.

5.A maximum of ten (10) minutes between heats for repairs of machine.

6.All motion to be halted upon signal from referees in case fire, injury, and other emergencies.

7.No hits when opponent is out of bounds.

8.No pit racing.

9.ALL COMBINES MUST BE REMOVED BY 10:00 AM SUNDAY AUGUST 14.

10.ALL DRIVERS MUST ATTEND THE DRIVER’S MEETING 20 MINUTES BEFORE THE START OF THE DERBY..

2012 LAWNMOWER DERBY RULES

SATURDAY AUGUST 11, 6:30 PM

Derby is open county registration

1.Entries will be accepted at the Secretary’s Office and by mail.

2.Entry fee $40.00 which covers driver plus one.

3.Pits open at 12:00 PM

RULES AND REGULATIONS

1.The garden or lawnmower must have a factory frame, no homemade frames.

2.Must be a front engine mower, no rear engines allowed.

3.All mowers must have factory stock engines.

4.Reinforcing the frame is permitted.

5.Transaxles must be factory, reinforcing, or spider gears is allowed.

6.Reinforcing around engine is allowed, but cannot be outside of the hood.

7.Hoods must remain factory. Hoods can be screwed down or welded. If hood is fiber glass, you can make a hood from sheet metal, but it is not allowed to be any bigger than the fiberglass hood was.

8.Brakes must be in operation when pulling in for heat race, must also have forward and reverse gear.

9.Gas tank must be fastened with cap on, if it comes loose or gas leaks you will be disqualified.

10.Some sort of leg guard is mandatory before entering arena, must go from rear fender to front foot rest or frame, and must be of 1-2 inch diameter material.

11.A rear bumper is recommended, but not mandatory. It cannot extend 4 inches out from rear of mower. Some sort of back protection is recommended, but not mandatory.

12.Pulleys can be changed to increase speed.

13.Drivetrain modifications are allowed by must stay belt driven.

14.Wheels must be of lawnmower type, no dual wheels and cut tires are allowed.

15.Mower decks must be taken off before entering pits, plus all headlights and any other plastics must be removed before the pit area.

16.The front of the frame under grill may be strengthened for hitting but must be a smooth finish, no front bumpers allowed.

17.In the event of a roll-over the event will be stopped until the officials get the mower back up right.

18.Number must be somewhere on each side of mower, number may be on helmet also.

19.All of the rules as far as when you are in the arena will be talked about at the driver’s meeting.

20.If mower does not pass inspection or participant refuses to fix something, there will be no refunds.

21.Officials have final say, we reserve the right to check mower after the derby.

RULES OF THE LAWNMOWER DEMOLITION DERBY

1.Driver must have long-sleeve shirt, pants, helmet, and eye protection.

2.No direct hits to the driver’s area.

3.If you are rolled over, the heat will be stopped and your combine will be placed back on its wheels.

4.During the competition, you must initiate contact within two (2) minutes. If at any time you cannot make contact within the time limit you will be disqualified.

5.All motion to be halted upon signal from referees.

6.No hits when opponent is out of bounds.

7.There will be a 100% pay-out.
